According to Chimney Safety Institute of America ( CSIA ), every year 200 people die due to HVAC system poisonous gas i.e less burned Carbon monoxide leading people to death. Exhaust systems of heating furnace and boilers are to be checked on regular periodic intervals. Choking of Chimneys and Exhausted pipes leads to grave damage. Cracked Heat Exchangers may be another cause of poisonous gas leakage. Carbon monoxide is a highly poisonous, odorless, colorless, and tasteless gas. It is very flammable in air over a wide range of concentrations. It is due to these properties that it can easily damage human living with a Ducting System which was installed for their benefit but the same results in grave damage to human life.
How to prevent from CO dragon in the Ducting
(a) Install CO detector. It usually cost 50 to 70 US dollars along with smoke detector. The price is very cheap as compared to a human life
(b) Without CO detector, any symptoms like following occur may be due to CO effect these are
i. Headache
ii. Nausea
iii. Dizziness
iv. Mental Confusion
v. Vomiting
vi. Loss of Consciousnesvii. Heart patients might feel pain in their chest
(c) Reach out of close environment
(d) Introduce fresh air in the environment through ventilation
Preemptive Care of avoiding CO poisoning in HVAC
